Are Nicotine Salts The Right Vape Juice For You?
Nicotine salt e-liquids are a different type of e-liquid compared to standard Freebase nicotine vape juice and they may not be for everyone, but depending on your preferences they do have some advantages compared to freebase nicotine which we will explain below.
The way nicotine salts differ is that they're made using a freebase nicotine base, but then a weak acid is added to the nicotine within the mixture to neutralize its naturally alkaline pH level which reduces the harshness. This is why a 20mg nicotine salt is considerably smoother on the throat compared to vaping an 18mg freebase e liquid.
The absorption rate of the nicotine is also considerably faster with nic salts than freebase. This is down to unique formulation which reduces the absorption time via the blood-brain barrier and satisfies cravings for longer. This can be slightly overwhelming for some, especially if they're new to vaping.
However, if you have recently quit smoking and wanting to transition to vaping, the absorption rate of nic salts is very close to the nicotine absorption from smoking tobacco products, which is something some people may want to replicate to curb the cravings for nicotine quicker.
