About The Argus P2

I’ve been vaping for many years and had countless amounts of different devices of all shapes and sizes from various brands that are well known within the vaping world. I’ve had quite a few different VOOPOO devices and have always been impressed by the quality and performance of them. So when I was offered the chance to review the Argus P2 from VOOPOO, I jumped at the chance to get hands on with this impressive looking piece of kit.

In 2023, VOOPOO released the Argus P1 pod vape kit and it was a huge hit with vapers around the globe. And now in 2024, VOOPOO have carried on with the success of the Argus P1 by releasing a new upgraded version in the form of the Argus P2. The Argus P2 is all of the best things about the Argus P1 but made even better.

With three different power modes, new and improved top fill pods and a larger battery capacity, the P2 is a device that’s recommended to any vaper regardless of their level of experience. Let’s take a look at the features in more detail before getting into my experience with the Argus P2!

What's In The Box?

This is what comes with the Innokin Klypse Mecha Vape Pod Kit:

- VOOPOO Argus P2 Device
- 2x Argus Top-Fill Pods (0.7ohm and 0.4ohm)
- USB-C Charging Cable
- Lanyard
- User Manual

Argus P2 Features

The stand out feature for me on the P2 is the improved, bigger capacity battery compared to the P1. The battery in the P1 is 800mah whilst the battery in the P2 is 1100mah, so quite the improvement. The second feature which seems a pretty big change is the new and improved Argus pods, which are top fill, something the previous Argus pods lacked.

But the good news is that the P2 is compatible with both the new and improved pods, as well as the original Argus pods, so you don’t have to worry about buying different pods if you’re seeking to upgrade and have a few of the pods left over.

And finally, the P2 has different “modes” which you can utilise to enhance your vaping experience. You can cycle through these modes by clicking the button on the top right hand side of the device.

NOR – This is Normal mode, which it comes on as default. The device will automatically detect the ohm resistance of the coil within the pod and set the wattage output automatically to the most optimal range.

SPT – I don’t actually know what these initials mean but I call it Sport Mode, as this enhances the performance of your vape by operating at the maximum wattage output possible according to the coil in your vape pod. I’ll explain more about this further on in the blog.

ECO – The Eco mode will preserve your battery by setting the wattage to the lower end of the range. VOOPOO have covered all the bases when it comes to different modes, and this is one of the big plus points from me about this device.

First Impressions

Upon opening the box that the P2 came in, I was greeted with the site of the shiny Neon Blue colour paint gleaming back at me. I’ve previously been using the Vaporesso Xros Pro and Sonder Q, which are both slim, pen-like pod vapes so was taken a back a bit by the shape of the P2 as it’s very…square.

On first glance, I wasn’t overly taken a back by it but took it out of the box and was pleasantly surprised how comfortably it fit in the palm of my hand, coupled with the fact that it’s relatively lightweight despite it’s wide appearance.

The left side of the device is the Neon Blue colour paint, which has a metallic finish to it, actually reminds me a bit of a car paint job. And on the right side is clear plastic, with a slightly smoked finish to it that you can see the power board through on the reverse.

Five quick clicks of the button situated on the top of the device and I was greeted with an array of bright colourful lights which appeared in sequence from the bottom up, before VOOPOO was displayed on the screen and the device was ready to go. I was impressed with how quick the boot time was.

The device itself comes with a 0.7ohm pod already in the device, you just need to take the sticker off of the base so that it will activate when put into the device. I filled the pod with vape juice and let it soak into the coil while I navigated through the menu options.

When the device is on, a quick 5 clicks of the button on the top will bring up a menu where you can select from clearing your puff counter, changing the power mode or turning the device off. Simply press the button down to change the option you want and then long press the button to select it

However, there is a faster way to change which power mode you want, which you can do by quick clicking the button three times and it will cycle through each different setting.

After around 10 minutes, I deemed the coil to be primed and dropped the pod into my P2 and I was ready to vape and see if this lived up to expectations!

My Vaping Experience With The Argus P2

I decided to not alter the power settings to start with and just stick with Normal/NOR mode to start with. The airflow control is located on the side of the device, and it’s a sliding adjustment which moves freely to wherever you want it to. I much prefer having a restricted airflow to give a tighter mouth to lung draw, so adjusted this so that just one air hole was exposed.

The device is draw activated, which means no buttons to press which I do find quite good, but I do also like having the option of a button activated feature too, but I’m not going to add minus points just for that.

It comes with 90% charge fresh out of the box so a good amount of charge and no waiting around for it to charge before you can use it. I took my first draw on the P2 and was taken a back a bit by how strong and punchy the hit was from it.

The flavour of my vape juice was absolutely incredible, a punchy throat hit and a modest amount of vapour production. I took another few puffs and it was the same as the first, smooth, flavoursome and satisfying so it was feeling like an instant win for me.

I decided to play around with the different modes and see what they were all about. 3 clicks of the button put it into ECO mode. When I inhaled, I could feel that the wattage output was a lot lower than what it is on Normal mode, and it wasn’t as powerful or flavoursome, and only gave a very discreet amount of vapour. This could be ideal for someone who’s looking for a less intense vaping experience, plus it will also conserve the battery life.

Then it was time to try Sport mode! (or SPT mode as it’s officially called) Three quick clicks of the button cycled it out of ECO mode and into SPT mode. I took a puff and was instantly amazed at just how different this was compared to Normal mode!

This mode really excels the flavour of the vape juice in the pod, as well as the hit and vapour production are vastly improved as well. I was really impressed by this and recommend using this mode if you’re looking for big flavour and clouds. But it will lower your battery life quite a bit faster than if it was on Normal mode I found.

The neon lights on the front of the device are a nice touch, although can be slightly distracting, however there is an option to turn them off completely if you wanted to. Overall, I’ve had a very enjoyable vaping experience with the Argus P2.

The Argus Pods

Having not used the Argus pods before, I can’t pass comment on what the “new and improved” pods which come with the P2 are like compared to their predecessors, but I asked a couple of people in the office who has used them, and they do find the new Argus pods to be better.

The P2 kit comes with a 0.7ohm pod which I’m using currently for a slightly loose feeling mouth to lung vape experience, and it also comes with a 0.4ohm pod, which can be used for restricted direct to lung vaping.

I’ve been using this device for the last week or so and the original 0.7ohm pod is still holding up strong with no signs of burnt cotton taste or anything like that which I’m very impressed by. I’ll divulge more information about the vape juice I’ve been using below, but it appears that the coils can withstand any type of 50/50 vape juice, regardless of the sweetness of the flavour with no issues.

They’re advertised as “top fill” pods, but the fill port is actually on the side of the pod, albeit closer to the top, and not completely on the bottom like the older Argus pods. I haven’t had any leakage issues with these, another tick on the positive list.

What Vape Juice Works Best With The Argus P2?

If you’ve read any of my previous vape reviews, you’ll know that I enjoy swapping between nicotine salts and freebase nicotine vape juice. Bar Salts are my personal preference alongside some flavours from our Original £1 range as well, and I’ve been using both of these in my Argus P2 during my review period.

The Argus pods really do bring out the maximum amount of flavour from the vape juice, and I cannot fault it for that. The only thing I did find is that when on SPT Mode, using 20mg nic salts did give quite an intense nicotine hit which may not be to everyone’s liking, so be wary of this if you’re a nic salt user!

Charging And Battery Life

As mentioned, the battery size has increased with the creation of the Argus P2, and boasts an impressive 1100mah battery which is pretty good for a pod vape device.

I decided to run the battery right down to 5% before putting it on charge, and from the 90% charge it came with out of the box, this lasted me a full day and part way into the following day before I needed to put it on charge.

As mentioned, I did just keep it on Normal mode, and I suspect the battery would dwindle down a lot quicker if you consistently used it on SPT mode, but on the contrary, it would last longer if you opted for ECO mode.

Putting it on charge, it was quite obvious to see that the fast charge capability had been included with the P2 like it is with the P1 as it charged from 5% to 100% in 37 minutes. I was amazed at how quick it charged!

Final Thoughts

Overall, I’m very impressed with the Argus P2 and how it performed. I can’t find many negatives to it, other than the LED lights can be a little bit distracting/annoying, but these can be turned off through the menu, so it’s not even that big of a deal really!

I’d recommend this pod vape kit to any vaper regardless of experience. The simplicity of use is really good for beginner vapers, especially having the alternating modes which cater to all levels.

The durability of the coils within the pods also seem really good as well, and they do a great job of really bringing out the flavour of the vape juice regardless of what mode it’s being used on.

The Argus P2 is also one of the best vape kits to take on holiday with you if you're planning a summer break as it's small and compact design makes it the perfect pocket sized vape, and it's long lasting battery paired with fast charge capability makes it a perfect choice for your holiday vape!

If you’re using an Argus P1 currently and are considering upgrading, I’d really recommend doing so as you won’t regret it!

The Argus P2 is available to buy for £28.99 from LiQuid and is available in 8 different colours!
