Your Coil Is Wearing Down

One of the most common causes for your Vaporesso vape pod leaking is that the coil is beginning to wear down and it's also a tell tale sign that you're going to need to replace your pod soon. The reason your e-liquid leaks from your pod is because the cotton inside the coil has began to degrade and there's not enough for your e-liquid to soak into, therefore it's going to start leaking out. 

You're Using The Wrong E-Liquid

It's important to use the right e-liquid to match the ohms of your coil. Different ohms resistances relate to what style of vaping you can do with them, for example a 0.4ohm coil would be used for sub-ohm vaping and you'd need to use High VG e-liquid with these coils, as the cotton will properly absorb the thicker e-liquid. 

If you were to use a thinner vape juice with a 50VG to 50PG ratio, chances are this will be too thin and not properly absorb into the cotton of your coil and may leak through. 

The Pod May Be Damaged

Vape pods aren't the most robust of things and can be easily damaged by either accidentally dropping your vape or even them just having a factory defect. Something like a hairline crack in your pod can cause the vape juice to leak out, so try and prevent accidents happening with your Vaporesso pod kit, and if you notice leaking just give your pods the once over to check for damage.

The Pod May Be Overfilled

There's always a risk of overfilling when it comes to vape pods, and if this happens, the e-liquid will seap into the top of the coil and not absorb into the cotton which will then cause a leakage. Keep an eye on your fill line when filling your vape pods and try not to fill them up to the very top and this should prevent any leaks.

Aspire are a vape brand that are known globally for their consistent innovation when it comes to vaping technology. Arguably most known for the Aspire PockeX which is a pen style vape kit, they branched out into creating pod vape kits a few years ago and have continued to release high quality and well performing pod vape kits. 

Most of the Aspire pod vape kits that we stock here at LiQuid use vape pods which have the coils preinstalled inside them, with top filling design for your e-liquid, but this leakages can still happen. Alongside these pods, the Flexus Pro also gives you the option to use replacement coils rather than replacement pods, which does open the door for some different leaking causes arising. We'll trouble shoot a few of the common issues below for Aspire pods leaking and why that may be.

Your Coil Is Wearing Down

This is going to be the number one reason for any pod vape kit that you use as to why your pod may be leaking and that's because the coil is wearing down and there's not enough cotton for your e-liquid to absorb into. Aspire coils should last on average 7-10 days before you start to see degradation of the cotton, so if you spot leaking happening after this time, it's likely that you'll need to just change your pod for a new one. 

You're Using The Wrong E-Liquid

Aspire vape pods are available in varied ohms resistances to cater to different styles of vaping. You must ensure to use the correct e-liquid for the ohms of the coil that's housed inside your pod or chances are you'll find that your e-liquid will begin seeping out if it's too thin to absorb or if it's too thick, it'll flood the coil and not absorb properly.

Your Coil Isn't Inserted Properly

If you're using the Aspire Flexus Pro pods that use replacement AF mesh coils, you've got to ensure that your coil is properly in place in your pod because if it's not, it's going to leak as the pod won't properly be sealed. The coil changing system is really simple and easy to do, with the coils being push fit so when changing the coils, just ensure that you're pushing it properly into place and it's tight in place and you shouldn't get any more leaks!

The Pod May Be Overfilled

As with any vape pod, always ensure that you don't overfill your pod with e-liquid. Most Aspire pods have a "max fill" line indicated on the pod. Always keep an eye for this and aim not to go over it.

Geekvape have made a name for themselves in the world of pod vaping by creating the incredible Geekvape Sonder Q series. The first of the series, the Sonder Q, was released a few years back and is one of the most user friendly pod vape kits on the market. All of the mentioned kits utilise Geekvape Q pods, which have the coils integrated inside each pod for convenience and they're easy to fill, with top fill design. We'll troubleshoot some common problems below relating to the Geekvape Q pods. 

Your Coil Is Starting To Burn Out

This is always going to be the same with any vape pod that you use. The coil to a vape kit is like what the heart is to the human body, if it's not looked after and kept in good condition, then you're going to run into problems. Ensure that you keep a fresh pod at hand to change your exisiting one over if you start to notice your e-liquid leaking or it doesn't taste right as it'll mean your coil is burning out. 

You're Using The Wrong E-Liquid

Q pods are mainly designed to be used with 50/50 e-liquids, so ensure you're using the right e-liquid for your Q pod. If you try a thicker e-liquid like 80/20, you may find this won't absorb into the cotton of your coil and it'll leak out.

Check For Damage To Your Pod

Vape pods aren't indestructible and it can be quite easy to damage your pod, especially if you accidentally drop your vape kit or knock it over. If you notice there's leakage, check the pod over for damage and if you see any issues, then just replace your pod with a new one.

Don't Overfill Your Pod

Q Pods feature a top fill design, and it's quite easy to overfill the pods if you're not careful. Gentle squeeze your e-liquid bottle to fill up your pod and fill it to just under the max fill line. If you overfill it, it may spill into the chamber of the pod and this will not absorb into the cotton and instead just leak out.

Voopoo have produced so many great vape kits across the years and in all different types of vape kit, ranging from pen vapes to mod vape kits. But in recent times they've become more known for their incredible pod vape kits, especially the Voopoo Argus range of pod vape kits. 

The Argus series all utilise replacement Argus pods, and these come with coils preinstalled inside every pod with varied ohms resistances available as well. They've recently changed the design of filling the Argus pods to a top fill design to prevent leaks happening, but they can still happen should you not take care when filling as well as maintaining your Argus pod vape kit.

Choose The Right Pod For Power Settings

The Argus P2 has adjustable power settings so it's important to use the right ohms coil inside the Argus pod for the specific power setting. If you use the wrong coil on a high power setting, it won't heat the e-liquid properly and your coil may flood which will cause leaking.

Ensure You Use The Correct E-Liquid

As we mentioned, Argus pods are available in different ohms resistances and this opens the door to using different ratio mixes of e-liquid. Ensure you use the correct ratio e-liquid for the coil that's housed inside your Argus pod. The general rule of thumb is 0.6ohm or higher uses 50/50 e-liquid and anything lower should use High VG e-liquid. 

Check For Broken Seals

Argus pods come sealed with the coils preinstalled in them, but occassional factory defects can happen and you may find the pod is not sealed properly, which will result in leakage occuring. Check around the base of the pod for any loose seals and if you spot it's not sealed correctly, then dispose of that pod and replace with a new one.

We've troubleshooted most of the common problems associated with leaking vape pods specific to different devices and pods, but we thought we would round off this blog with a few generalised tips to how to prevent leaking from happening aside from the points we've made above.

Keep Your Pod Vape Kit Upright Where Possible

We would always advise to keep your vape kit standing upright as much as you can. We know that this might not always be possible given the design and shape of the some of the pod vape kits on the market, but keeping your pod vape kit upright will reduce the risk of leakage of your e-liquid from out of your vape pod.

Don't Overheat Your Coil

Try and avoid over heating your coil, or chain vaping with your pod vape kit if you can. Constant reheating of the coil, in short sharp bursts may cause your coil to flood as it won't be heating to optimal temperature to heat your e-liquid. 

Keep Up With Maintenance

Pod vape kits are relatively low maintenance but it's imperative that you keep on top of it to ensure your pod and coil is in good condition. If you notice leaking as well as your e-liquid turning a different colour in your pod or tasting different, it's probably time to change your pod to a new one complete with a fresh coil. 

Install Your Coil Correctly

If your vape pod uses replacement coils rather than them being integrated, ensure that you correctly fit your coil in your pod when changing it as if it's loose in the pod, even the slightest part, it won't have created a seal and your e-liquid will leak out.
