Disposable vapes are being banned in the UK as of June 1st 2025. As of writing this blog, it's only 6 weeks away which isn't long but the ban itself has been a long time coming!

Intentions to ban the single use vape devices first came about last year (2024) when former Prime Minsiter of the UK, Rishi Sunak, announced the "Stopping The Start" campaign and within this campaign was the intention to ban disposable vapes from sale in the UK. Then following an election in the UK and Labour taking control of the UK, there was uncertainty whether or not these plans would be carried over.

But at the start of this year (2025) new UK PM Keir Starmer announced the confirmed date of June 1st 2025 for when disposable vapes will be banned from sale in the UK. The reasonings for the ban is to stop the amount of underage users using the brightly coloured and tempting single use vape devices as well as preventing further harm to the environment that disposables are causing. Despite being made from plastic, they are not recyclable and instead have to be disposed of in general waste and millions upon millions are being dumped in landfills across the UK every single week.

We are currently in the sell through period for shops to sell through their stock of disposables because one June 1st comes, it will be illegal to supply and/or sell any single use vape device.
