Recently, James was lucky enough to recieve the Aspire Pixo refillable pod vape as a sample from Aspire to get hands on with it and try it out before deciding whether we add it to our catalogue of refillable vape kits we have on offer on our online vape shop. Read on to find out James' thoughts on this brand new device as he gets hands on with it to give you an honest and in-depth review of the new Aspire Pixo!

About The Aspire Pixo Pod Vape Kit
You may have seen that we've recently added two of the latest pod vape kits from Aspire to our online vape shop, the Aspire Flexus Pro and the Aspire Cyber G Slim.
I've written reviews for both the Flexus Pro and the Cyber G Slim which showed how impressed I was by Aspire's latest devices, and it was a no brainer that we stock them. But I recently got offered the chance to try out the Aspire Pixo pod vape kit. And it got me wondering if we really needed another Aspire pod vape kit...well that was until I read all about it prior to recieving it and I couldn't say no from there!
The Aspire Pixo is a refillable pod vape kit, poweed by an 1100mah battery and has quite a few different features compared to the other's we've recently added.
It has been designed to offer a "full HD" vaping experience, and that's delivered by it's 200% HD touchscreen which displays your wattage, battery life and ohm resistance, as well as being fully touch operated.
It has an impressive 1100mah battery to power the device and also has 2A fast charge capability.
It's all sounding pretty good so far right? Now to find out whether the performance lived up to the words!
What Comes In The Aspire Pixo Box?

I've never had a vape kit that comes with it's own microfibre cloth, this is a really nice addition to the Pixo, as it's very prone to showing fingerprints on the screen and back of the device.
Aspire Pixo Pod Vape Kit Features
As mentioned, the Aspire Pixo features a HD resolution display screen which is incredibly clear (and also bright) meaning you won't struggle to see what your wattage output is as it's a nice large number that's displayed in the middle, as the picture below shows.
One thing I really like is where it has the "best" wattage range below the current wattage number. This is a recommended range for what you should have your wattage set as. Normally this is only seen on coils, or on the packets of coils/pods, so to have it constantly on show is something I really rate.
The touchscreen is good too, and very responsive, not overly sensitive but it's also not laggy when you swipe up or down on it. You can choose from three different "themes" as shown on the right. I prefer to use the middle pictured one, as it's not as in your face and overly busy unlike the others.
My First Impressions of the Aspire Pixo Vape kit
After taking it out of the box, my first thoughts are that the Aspire Pixo is a really neat and compact little pod vape kit. It's got a bit of weight to it, but nothing overly heavy and fits really nice in the hand when you're using it to vape.
5 quick clicks of the Home button turned the device on and the screen illuminated with an Aspire logo followed by a short animation, and then the home screen display was active, literally a second or two from turning the device on and it was ready to go.
I wanted to explore the settings and features of the device first and foremost. If you press the home button three times in quick succession, it'll bring up the main menu which has a lot of different options to cycle through and the amount of customisation you can choose from for your Pixo is incredible.
You can choose from "Smart Mode" which automatically sets your wattage output based on the coil resistance within the pod being used or "Watt Mode" which allows you to set your wattage to whatever you desire.
A/B Mode is also an option to choose from. A is inhale activated, B is Button activated and A/B is both of them that you can choose either or when you go to use your vape.
Then there's the Themes you can choose from, the puff record counter, the animation that shows when you're inhaling, honestly there's so many different niche features to this device it really makes it stand out from the others on the market!
The device comes with the 0.4ohm pod already installed, and has the 1.0ohm pod alongside it in the packaging, which is what I swapped to use first.
The pod has a sticker on the base of the pod which covers the connection points, and may cause your device to say "Check Atomiser" simply remove this sticker and you'll be good to go!
As mentioned, these pods are sealed with the coils preinstalled in them so you just replace the whole pod as and when the coil reaches the end of it's life, and you don't have to worry about getting your hands messy with changing coils.
Filling the pods couldn't be easier, as they have a orange rubber bung that can be peeled back to reveal the filling port on the pod and you just top up your pod with your preferred vape juice and you're good to go!
You can also choose to not have any of the animations show when using the Pixo which will preserve your battery life a little bit if it's something you're concerned about.
Now my Pixo was all set to go, I topped up my Pixo pod with my Bar Salts vape juice, left it for 5 minutes and then dropped it into the device, and we were ready to go!
What Is It Like To Use The Aspire Pixo Pod Vape Kit?
As always with my reviews, I'll use this section to answer some of what I feel are likely to be the more frequently asked questions about the Aspire Pixo and how to use it.
How Do You Turn On The Aspire Pixo?
Located directly above the screen is a small button, called the "Home" button. 5 quick clicks of this (within 2 seconds) will turn the device on, and repeat this to turn the device off.
How Do You Change The Power Settings On The Aspire Pixo?
As the device is touch screen, this is where you navigate through the settings and can change the wattage. It can be slightly confusing to work out for the first time how to change the wattage so I'll explain as best as I can here to help!
When the screen is active, and you can see the wattage number displayed, swipe down on the screen twice in quick succession. This will then bring up a different screen with the wattage in the middle with a + above it and - below it. You can then navigate through the numbers to get to your desired wattage range. The screen is incredibly responsive and it doesn't lag at all.
0.4ohm Pod - 25-35w
0.6ohm Pod - 15-25w
1.0ohm Pod - 10-15w
What Is The Best Vape Pod For The Aspire Pixo?
I may be slightly bias with my answer to this question, as I do prefer mouth to lung vaping so the 1.0ohm pod is certainly the best vape pod to me.
However, this may be different for you if you prefer a different style of vaping and the three different pods which are available do cater to all styles. You've got the 0.6ohm pod if you prefer a restricted direct to lung vape as well as the 0.4ohm pod for those who may prefer a sub ohm style vape experience. The choice is yours!
How Do I Adjust The Airflow?
Located on the side of the device is the airflow holes which are covered by a slider that slightly pertrudes from the device.
Simply slide this up or down to restrict the airflow. Sliding it all the way down will reveal three airflow holes, and you can then slide it up to restrict the airflow. I tend to keep just one airflow hole open for a tighter draw, but if you want an more airy draw, then I'd recommend having the airflow all the way open as this will let more air get to the coil and ultimately produce more vape cloud too.
How Does The Aspire Pixo Perform For Flavour, Vapour & Smoothness?
If you've read my previous reviews on Aspire devices, you'll know how impressive Aspire's pods and coils are for flavour and performance, and the Pixo pods are no exception to this! I chose to sample a few of our newest Bar Salts Soda nic salt vape juices for the purpose of this review, and I was blown away at the flavour that was produced from the coils.
I used the 1.0ohm pod primarily for the purpose of this review, mainly because I prefer a lower wattage vape so that it gives a good mouth-to-lung draw. I set the wattage to 12 watts which was in the middle of the suggested range, and after taking my first puff, I was amazed at how strong and rich the flavour was of my Iron Soda Bar Salts as well as the amount of vapour which was produced on exhale.
The device comes with a 0.4ohm pod which I did try also, and ramped the wattage up to 30 watts to really give it a good test, and the flavour was out of this world, as well as producing a thick cloud of vapour on exhale. This device really does give the best of both worlds if you're looking for a mouth to lung vape or a direct to lung vape!
Buy Aspire Pixo Replacement Pods Online
The Aspire Pixo replacement pods come in packs of 2 and there are 3 different ohm resistances available to choose from.
You can get 0.4ohm pods or 1.0ohm pods which are the same as what comes with the Aspire Pixo kit, plus there is also a 0.6ohm replacement pod available, meaning there are coil ohm resistances to suit all different styles of vaping whether that be MTL, RDTL or DTL.
They are 2ml capacity as to adhere to TPD regulations.
What Vape Juice Works Best With The Aspire Pixo?
As with my other reviews, I primarily used our nic salt infused Bar Salts range, for the purpose of this review. However, I did try some of our new 100ml vape juice flavours as well seeing as I had a 0.4ohm coil pod to try out!
If you're using the 0.6ohm or 1.0ohm pod, I would say to stick to using 50/50 vape juice and keep within the recommended wattage range that's displayed on the screen. If you were to use High VG vape juice, this would work best with the 0.4ohm vape pod, as it can be ramped up to a higher wattage.

How Long Does It Take To Charge The Aspire Pixo & How Long Is The Battery Life?
Performance wise so far, I've been pretty impressed by the Aspire Pixo, but the true test is how good the battery life is as I find this to be a pivotal part of a vape kit due to how much I use my vape on the daily.
The Pixo has an 1100mah battery, so it's marginally smaller than the Aspire Cyber G Slim, but still an 1100mah battery in a palm sized pod vape kit is nothing to be scoffed at for sure. When I took the device out of the packaging, it comes with 75% charge which is good to provide instant out of the box use. But I wanted to put it on charge to 100% prior to using it.
The Pixo charges via USB-C and the charging port is situated on the bottom of the device. I put the device on charge and was astounded that it took 9 minutes to charge from 75%-100%! The device does boast 2A fast charging capabilities and it really showed with this short charge time.
Performance wise, using the device consistently through the day as my sole vape device, and as I type this review, the battery is still at 46% which is pretty incredible I think you'll agree. I am using it on a low wattage (12w) which is of course aiding to battery life preservation, and I imagine the battery percentage would deplete faster should you use it a higher wattage.
The battery life indicator is displayed on the home screen at the base of the screen, with a number preceeded by a lightning bolt icon.
Final Thoughts On The Aspire Pixo
If you hadn't have already guessed by now, I'm a huge fan of the Aspire Pixo and it's arguably the best vape kit I've had the pleasure of reviewing for the website.
Having been an avid vaper for the last 7 years, I've seen all of the trends and different vape kits come and go, and I'm not going to hide the fact there was a slight internal groan and roll of the eyes when I saw Aspire were releasing another refillable pod vape kit, with all the bells and whistles on it to make this one of the "best on the market." Well, all I can say is if there's a humble pie being offered, I'll take a big slice of it!
The Aspire Pixo is just such a brilliant pod vape kit that over performs in every aspect, the flavour of the vape juice, the battery life, the charging, the niche features, it's just all round an incredible vape kit that I could not recommend more!
Whilst it may not be in the "budget" range of vape kits that we offer, the value for money and what you get for your money is so worth it. It feels like a top quality vape kit in hand, and it looks the part too. The screen display is 50% brighter as well as 200% HD improved compared to any other Aspire kits, and Aspire have really showcased how advanced their technology is with the Aspire Pixo; their innovation continues to set the standard for other vape devices that come on to the market.
